Great Marketing.
Explosive Growth.
Average Jokes.
I'm a marketing leader, startup guy, futurist, storyteller... But, I'll spare you the buzzwords (those are for LinkedIn). I'm on this earth to help amazing consumer technology products become great businesses. How? By elegantly balancing the implementation of disciplined data-driven growth methodologies, while building resonant brand messaging and product roadmaps that are *gasp* actually differentiated and grounded in real consumer insight.
I believe that marketing is becoming a lost art - so much so that many people don't even know what it means anymore (hint: it's not just "advertising", or "top of funnel"). Acquiring and retaining customers over the last decade has been so easy, that marketers lost track of the fundamentals. It's simple to optimize CTRs, CAC, and LTV in the near term, but it's hard to do that while also building measurable brand equity that drives long-term value. The businesses that survive and grow in the next decade will be the ones who can blend today's "growth hacking" skillset with classical marketing fundamentals and sound strategic business understanding - creating brands consumers love, not just products consumers love to use. I can help you do that.
I was taught marketing theory by some amazing minds at USC, then learned to apply it over the last decade marketing some of the world's biggest consumer brands and exciting high-growth startups. Right now, I'm particularly excited by VR/AR and the ways immersive experiences are going to transform how we interact with our world. I'm available for consulting work, speaking, and advisory opportunities.

I believe
Everything a business does is marketing.
People buy experiences, not products; and they’re not rational about it.
Data should always guide you, but never rule you.
If you try to be everything to everyone, you end up as nothing to anyone.
There’s no silver bullet. That growth hacking blog post you read about that thing that worked isn’t (completely) true. Successful marketing is a sum of many parts.
Scrappy is great, but don’t expect professional marketing results from amateur marketing.
Tech companies are generally bad at marketing.
Just because you like an ad doesn’t mean it’s effective.
Your designer shouldn’t be in charge of your brand. Brands are customers’ perceptions, not logos.
More isn’t better. Great marketing is about saying “no” to things. Quality > quantity.
You should always provide customers with trust, authenticity, consistency, relevancy, and value.
Focus is the most important thing that nobody has.
Marketing is like sex: Everyone thinks they’re good at it, only some actually are.
